Oregon License Plates has new owners!
Oregon
License Plates was started in the mid sixties by Wayne Andrus. He
was a machinist by trade and invented a machine that helps in the
process of restoring the plates. Wayne worked the business for 30
years, doing the Portland Swap Meet as his main way of contacting
customers. He helped write the Special Interest Law for the Oregon
Department of Motor Vehicles. He then sold the business in
1996 to Mike and Eileen Fahlgren.
Mike worked
hard at the business, growing it more each year, developing new ways
to straighten the plates and making the quality more and more like
new. He had the website built, bringing in more business. He
still participated in the Portland Swap Meet in April and also the Redmond, Oregon Swap
Meet in September, but did no other advertising. The quality of his
work and his integrity in business brought in more than enough work
to keep the business growing.
April 7th
2006, at the Portland Swap Meet, Mike and Eileen Fahlgren
handed the reigns to Don and Tamara Brown.
We are close
friends with the Fahlgren's and live only a few miles from each
other. We are involved in old car shows together, buy and sell
antiques, golf together and attend the same church in Redmond. Mike
has worked hard to train us in all aspects of the restoration
process. We are excited and working hard to keep the
same quality, integrity and professionalism foremost in our new
adventure.
We would
like to publicly thank the Fahlgrens for making it possible for us
to purchase this business and we hope they will be proud of the
direction we take it in the coming years.
We will be at
the Portland Swap Meet in April
